What fun! The little Diva and I went to the center today and she discovered the absolute joy of painting on an easel. I was surprised by just how little paint actually ended up on the Diva and myself. Yes - I had to mop the classroom floor a little but the joy that came from watching her create and have fun FAR - FAR - FAR outweighed the slight exertion it took to swoosh the mop around. We also discovered how much fun chalk boards can be - and don't get me started on the magnetic letters that stick to said board! Then there were the balls - all different shapes, sizes, textures and colours. Did I mention how much fun we had? I think we're going to install this place firmly into our weekly plans along with Mommy and Diva mid-week swimming. I find a busy Diva is a happy Diva. When she gets bored - she gets cranky and mommy turns into an "angry-bird". We all know this needs to be avoided at all costs!
The Little Diva was SUPER excited for "nack" time but wasn't too excited by the snack. She ate some tortilla and cheese but turned up her nose at the avocado and tomato. (I didn't blame her on the avo front - that thing was greener than green! I ate SO much Avo when I was pregnant with her that I assure you I know what constitutes a "good" avo and that was NOT it!)
I really wish there was some magic way to get this kid to eat like a pro. I keep hearing that it's common for preemies to be picky eaters especially when it comes to textures but I ALSO hear that full term kids tend to either eat EVERYTHING or be super fussy too... so I guess it's part of the Mommy job! If anyone has tips and tricks to getting your kids to eat vegetables and meat please throw them this way. I find if I give the Diva more than one texture in a mouth full she tends to spit it out. She's not a "lumps" girl I guess. The one thing I found that I can almost always get her to eat though is scrambled eggs with a little rice and finely chopped veggies in it. I'm guessing the egg makes the texture seem uniform? Oh well whatever it is we will keep experimenting!
Happy Almost Weekend Folks - Enjoy yer Friday!

Day 157 - Am I allowed to go to bed yet? lol
We had a good day today - it was pretty long but pretty awesome. The little Diva and I went swimming this morning which was WAY Too much fun. This Diva had a blast and so did I! We played with fish, watering cans, boats, ducks and even a bucket. She is getting even more brave in the pool and happily jumps into the water from siting on the edge. She comes up with a huge grin on her face as I catch her and hoist her up out of the water. So so fun watching her have fun :)
Then we came home and it was nap time and lunch time and before you know it Daddy was home and we were on our way to Grano and Grandpa's to hang out with my aunt and uncle visiting from Calgary. The little Diva was incredibly shy when we first got there but she warmed up before it was time to go home and both Aunt and Uncle got a hug and a kiss goodbye!! She LOVES the toy xylophone they got her and I'm pretty sure it's going to get A LOT of attention this week. We also love the gorgeous baking dish we got and I'm sure I'll be whipping up something in it sooner than later - Thank you again!!
The dessert was a hit - Yay! Mom made the most divine beef pies - we ate hours ago and I still feel stuffed. I think I am actually going to get an early night tonight and hope that the little Diva has a good night as well - I know all three of us need sleep!
Happy Thursday to all :)

Day 156 - Malva pudding!
One of my Aunts and Uncles is visiting from Calgary tomorrow - I don't think I've seen them since 2008 - CRAZY!! Anywho I am excited to see them and we will be heading over to my parents tomorrow night to have dinner with them. After we got the little Diva to bed tonight I quickly whipped up a Malva Pudding and some custard. The custard simply required me to follow the directions on the container. The Malva pudding recipe came out of a South Africa cookbook my mom gave me. I recently rediscovered it and have been making a few of the desserts featured. I am really enjoying the trips down memory lane!!
Anywho I am about to fall asleep on my keyboard so let me quickly share the recipe. The little Diva was up from 2am to about 4am this morning and it took a combined parental effort to get her back to sleep so we were both pretty exhausted today. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
Batter:
20ml butter
250ml sugar
2 eggs
12.5ml smooth apricot jam
5ml baking soda
125ml milk
5ml brown vinegar
250ml cake flour
pinch of salt
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs on at a time and beat well after each addition. Add the jam and mix well. Mix the Baking soda into the milk and add the vinegar. Alternately mix the milk and the flour and salt into the sugar mix. Make sure to mix well. Spoon this into a well greased, largish pyrex dish. Bake in an oven at 350 degrees or until a skewer comes out clean. As soon as it is removed from the oven you need to pour the sauce over it so be sure to prepare ahead of time!
Sauce:
250ml cream
180ml sugar
125g butter
125ml boiling water
5ml vanilla essence
Place all ingredients into a pot and stirring constantly bring to boil. Set aside until the dessert is removed from the oven.
Serve this dessert warm with custard! Yummy!

Day 155 - Hot, Hot and MORE HOT!!
Uggh so I managed to forget to write a blog post last night. I'm not even really sure how the heck that happened but I woke up this morning and half way through breakfast I though to myself "OMG I forgot to write last night!!" Sigh I am pretty disappointed I did that but what can you do... Life goes on - the world keeps spinning and I'm convinced I need to change my blog content or spice it up or something. Gotta make sure I have adoring fans to worry where the heck I got to if I miss a day you know!
Anywho so what I was doing last night was folding laundry and cleaning the kitchen. Nothing exciting or glamorous but it does keep us from going crazy trying to find our clothes in the giant laundry pile. A clean dishwasher also add a faint zen-like aura to the kitchen and it's always nice to know you're not going to run out of coffee mugs before the mid morning caffeine crave!
The little Diva and I spent a chunk of today running errands - luckily mostly in the AM because by this afternoon the thermometer in my car was reporting a temperature of 38 degrees. It was toasty, toasty, TOASTY! All the little Diva wanted to do once we got home was go walk and play outside but at that temp it really wasn't a good idea. We will play tomorrow a little more low key and make sure to get outside before it gets too crazy hot.
Happy Tuesday everyone :)

Day 153 - SOA!
We are finally caught up with all 4 seasons of Sons Of Anarchy and I am now eagerly waiting for season 5. I am hopelessly addicted ugh - save me from myself! hehe But seriously we might need to start a support group until the new season is here... I beleive we have to wait till September?
Umm... so yes today was a little chaotic - the little diva spent a fair chunk being a tantrum queen and I only hope she's teething and that this phase will pass soon. It breaks my heart having to get stern with her and having her tantrum even more. I'm hoping tomorrow goes better - I just need to work on funneling her energy in more positive directions I think.
Anywho I need to get stuck into finishing my photo books for the moms so I'm going to end off here. I will be making zucchini bread tomorrow so stay tuned for that recipe. I need to find more ways to get the little Diva to eat more veggies and here's a sneaky start.

Day 152 - Busy day!
We started our day at 7am when the little Diva hopped into our bed for a snuggle. She slept there - sprawled across the entire bed until 9ish! She is so freaking cute I could sit and watch her sleep for hours. I really wish we didn't have to make her stay in her bed when she gets up before 6am - she is so cute when she gets up and rushes into our room. The sleepy eyes and happy grin melt my heart but I know she needs to learn to sleep in her bed!
We had a lovely walk this afternoon - it was toasty, toasty hot! The little Diva had a blast watching the ducks and didn't want to head back home. I'm looking forward to this weekend - we don't have anything planned so hopefully it will be a fun and relaxed two days of family fun!

Day 151 - SO SO SO TIRED!!
Oh my goodness I could fill weeks whining about how tired I am and if I look back on this blog I probably have filled weeks with it. The little Diva didn't sleep well last night and we spent a good couple of hours trotting her back to bed from 2am until 5am when she finally slept for a good stretch. We tried the method where you simply quietly scoop her up when she gets out of bed - don't make eye contact until you put her back in bed and say "go to sleep". This did eventually work and she put herself to sleep so I'm cautiously optimistic that this will teach her good sleep habits! Fingers crossed!!
I wasn't able to get her down for a nap today and she promptly fell asleep when we went for a walk with her little friend A and her mommy. I got in a good chat and a walk and by the time we got back to A's house both girls were up and had a blast playing in the backyard. Summer time, bubbles and two giggling girls - gotta love it :D
Happy Friday to you all!!!

Day 150 - Sleep deprived
Boy did the little Diva make a habit of getting out of bed last night. I'm not even sure how many times we actually had to carry her back and convince her it was still night time but man was I beat today. There is nothing like not getting enough sleep to make you want to punch strangers. Oh well - I didn't punch anyone and the little Diva is asleep so here's hoping we all have a great night!
I'll be back tomorrow with hopefully more energy :)

Day 149 - slow day but a gooder :)
The little Diva and I had a good day - we ran a few errands and went for a walk at the mall and then a short walk outside to mail one of her birthday invites. I am looking for a Thomas cake pan - hopefully I can find one!
I would type more but one of my eyes is itchy and red and not happy - I think I got some cat hair or something in it and it's making staring at the screen a little difficult.
Until tomorrow - keep happy and healthy!

Day 148 - Spring Cleaning with a vengeance..
Whew - we spent a chunk of today cleaning out the basement and the garage. It feels AMAZING to throw out unnecessary and unwanted clutter! Yay us!! We went for one walk today after the little Diva's nap and she enjoyed being outside. We also spent some time in the park and the backyard while Daddy worked on the basement cleanup.
I can't remember if I mentioned it or not but I had to take the cats for their checkup on Saturday. JubJub actually hissed at me when I shoved him into the carrier with Mr. Kitty. I was a quite taken aback as he's not usually one to hiss at people. I tried not to take it personally and ignored his anguished wailing as I shoved the carrier into the car. They were super quite on the drive over and even quieter once I placed the cage in the animal clinic. Poor Mr. Kitty was panting - guess they were both pretty freaked out.
So according to our vet both cats are healthy. Mr. Kitty is however fat and JubJub is an anxious cat. Thankfully there's nothing scarier wrong with him! Apparently you do get cat prozac but they have to be a little loopier than JubJub is to warrant prescribing it. hahaha I thought that was hillarious because I've joked about getting JubJub prozac on more than one occasion. The Vet did however suggest we get a plug in that emits something similar to the hormones mother cats secrete when they have a litter of kittens - apparently it might help to chill him out a little.
I've been feeding the cats wet food once a day and that seems to be helping Jubbers with his litter issue; perhaps the poor guy was simply constipated. He spent all of yesterday on the couch feeling pretty sorry for himself while Mr. Kitty pranced around the house as well as a ridiculously overweight cat can. Seems the rabies vaccine really gave Jubbers a beating while the chubby one had enough blubbler to absorb it without reaction!
Anywho - the long weekend it coming to an end so I will wish everyone a very happy Tuesday and I'll be back tomorrow :D

Day 147 - Walking, walking and more walking!
What a GORGEOUS day we had today - it was warm and sunny and really peaceful. We started today by walking to the Little Diva's swimming lesson. She had a blast in the pool with Daddy. I got to sit and watch and catch up with her friend A's mommy who was also watching from the side. When we got home it was time for lunch and the little Diva's nap. Thankfully Daddy was able to get her to sleep in her bed because I failed miserably. I have to admit that I really miss her crib. Oh well - we will figure it all out sooner than later and then the Little Diva will be putting herself to sleep like a pro! Fingers crossed that it's sooner than later :)
After naps and lunch we walked to the grocery store to grab some veggies to make a stir fry and to Canadian Tire to grab a new filter for the furnace. Hopefully it will help calm our allergies a little! We then had some supper and another walk and then it was time for bathing the little Diva.
Whew what a day! I'm looking forward to another lovely sunny day tomorrow. Happy Long Weekend!!

Day 146 - still sleepy!
Yesterday morning the day started out with a bit of a thud! The little Diva managed to climb out of her crib. Luckily she wasn't hurt. We had to convert her crib to a bed so we are a little unsure of how much sleep we're going to be getting for the next little bit. She was up at 6am this morning and snuggled in our bed fast asleep until 10. Any attempt to move her back to her room woke her up so we just let her be. We'd got to bed pretty late last night so she needed her sleep!
I'll be back tomorrow - here's hoping we all get some sleep :D

Day 145 - LATE and TIRED!
We had a super busy and super fun day today but you will have to wait till tomorrow to hear all about it! :)

Day 144 - Whew so much to do and so few hours in a day.
The little Diva and I had some fun at the mall this morning. I had me a lovely ice-cold coffee and she got a giant puppy shaped cookie. She started munching him from the feet up this time around. She was very happy with this cookie and even licked most of the icing off of it. I was busy buying a red nose ring for the wedding on Friday night when she dropped the rest of the cookie on the floor. At that point the puppy had to go in the garbage and we got to see some more of the mall on the way back to the car.
I have an appointment to get my nails done tonight and I am a wee bit excited. It has been WAY too long since I got my nails done. I find whenever I do them myself I end up touching something and ruining them before they dry! So here's to leaving the spa with dry and un-chipped nails. Wish me luck.
Happy Thursday one and all!!

Day 143 - YAWN and then some!
I am super duper sleepy today - I know, I know I'm pretty much sleepy EVERYDAY! I like to joke that I haven't not been sleepy in at least 2 years. As funny as this comment is - it really is mostly true. Having a kid really does mess with your ability to sleep in. Don't get me wrong, kiddies are totally and utterly worth it though. I didn't get too much done on the photo books last night. I am drowning a little under the weight of out photos so I'm hoping that if I type now (while the Diva is sleeping) that I'll have more time to focus tonight when we get back from visiting Dadoos and Mandadda.
The little Diva and I will also have to get stuck in and do some chores when she wakes up. Well - I need to get stuck in and get some chores done so hopefully she will play along and let me do them! It looks like it might rain again this afternoon which puts a bit of a damper in my "fresh air walk" idea, but there are plenty of things to do inside too if that does happen. There's drawing, puzzles, books, play dough, TV etc.
I got the Little Diva a set of black out curtains for her room and was hopeful that I'd be able to simply stick them in behind her existing curtains but it looks like that may take a little creativity to make happen. I'm optimistic that I will figure it out though! Wish me luck.
Until tomorrow - hope everyone is having a super Wednesday!

Day 142 - Yay bangles!
So the little Diva and I journeyed back to the Indian clothing store this morning and we quite easily exchanged my bangles! They really are gorgeous - Friday night is going to be a whole bunch of fun.
I hate to love and leave you all but I'm trying to get photo books done for the moms - they are already late Mother's Day gifts that NEED to be ordered so excuse me while I get them done! :D It's slightly terrifying how many photo's you accumulate over the space of a year - so I have some wading through memory lane to do.

Day 141 - Shopping with Dadoos!
The little Diva, Daddy and I had a bit of a long night. She was up several times and I'm guessing it was a combination of her exciting day yesterday and her teeth. Teeth are not fun. I had a teeth cleaning on Saturday and I'm still surprised that I don't actually cry in the chair. I'm not sure what the hell my issue is but I do not enjoy my teeth being worked on. Anyway teeth are not my friends - unless I'm chomping on something good! :D
We have a wedding to go to on Friday and we decided that the little Diva needed an Indian outfit to wear so we called up Dadoos and asked if she wanted to go on a shopping trip. She was excited and we planned to go today. My plan was that the little Diva would nap and then we would go pick up Dadoos. Of course the Little Diva decided her nap was a no-go and I decided to simply pack her up and let her sleep in the car. She slept right through picking Dadoos up and woke up when I took her out at the first store. We stopped at 3 different stores and found the perfect outfit at the third store. She looks gorgeous and I can't wait to dress her up on Friday!
The little Diva LOVED the Indian clothing stores - she kept telling Dadoos all about the shiny things she was seeing. She was thrilled with her bangles and wanted to play with them all afternoon. I got a gorgeous set of red bangles but stupidly didn't try them on before leaving so I will be going back tomorrow morning to get bigger ones!

Day 140 - Mother's DAY!!
We had a wonderful day today. We had all 4 of the little Diva's grandparents over as well as two of her aunts and uncles and all 3 cousins to celebrate Mother's day. There was TONNES of food and tonnes of dessert and we're all WAY too full and really, really sleepy! The little Diva had a blast running around outside with her cousins and it was almost impossible to convince her it was time to come inside.
I will be sharing a recipe or two tomorrow so stay tuned! :)
Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!!! Thank you so much to our moms for all they do every day - we appreciate and love you more than we can ever put into words!

Day 139 - Amazing Day :)
I had a lovely day today. The hubby and I got the garden sorted out - woohoo! - and we spent a chunk of time outside with the little Diva today which she was THRILLED about. Then we all went for a swim this evening and had an absolute blast. The little diva was super thrilled to kick and splash and dunk her mommy. She thought my going under water was hilarious.
I'm off to bed but in honour of Mother's Day tomorrow here's a quote:
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

Day 138 - Errands and a Birthday Party!
The little Diva and I ran a couple of errands today. Most importantly we stopped by the South African store to pick up Boerwors! I am definitely looking forward to our BBQ on Sunday for Mother's Day. There's going to be all kinds of yumminess and lovely family togetherness. While we were at the store I noticed that they had Wilson's Mint Imperials and I just HAD to grab a box of them. The little Diva is obviously too young to be sucking on mints but this mommy needed some!
The minty candies taste like my childhood - like beautiful vivid memories of my childhood. My oupa always had these in his pocket. For whatever reason he never actually had them in a box. He would fish out a handful of candy from his pocket and then pick off the little bits of lucerne mixed in amongst them. Lucerne is that plant that often end up in bales that get fed to cows etc. The lucerne was as much part of the treat as the candy was and so much so that we called them lucerne peppermints. Us kids would stand around Oupa watching the lucerne clearing ritual and then we'd all get to eat peppermints together. Anywho the candies took me on a trip down memory.... It was great and I have a whole 100g box of minty memories to look forward to!
The little Diva and I also ended up at a grocery store where she poured her juice box into the little cup/snack tray on her stroller. I was distracted trying to chose snacks for Sunday so there was WAY more juice in the tray than in the juice box by the time I had to repress a mommy tantrum. Why is it that kids LOVE to make messes? My theory is that the little Diva's giant propensity for making a mess is karma's way of getting me back for driving my mother batty with my messes!
Anywho - I didn't have a giant pile of wet wipes on me so the Little Diva got to splash her fingers in there until we got to the parking lot. There I simply tipped the juice out - removed the Diva's soggy coat and used a wet wipe to make her hands a wee bit less sticky. All in all it was a LOT of fun though :) I sort of got a kick out of the look another woman gave me for letting the Diva play in the juice. Seriously - relax lady - the Diva was entertained - I didn't have a meltdown and it's not like Juice is that big of a deal.
Happy Weekend all! I'm off to celebrate my little Brother's birthday tonight - I'm sure it's going to be a blast :)

Day 137 - Mmm sunny :)
The little Diva and I had a lovely walk at the mall this morning. I got her a cat shaped cookie at Second Cup when I picked up a Green Tea Latte for myself. She was so happy with her cookie that it got kisses and hugs in-between being nibbled at. At one point she'd eaten most of its head and announced to the rest of it, "Bye bye cat!"... I love this kid so freaking much - she brightens up my days. When I let her out of her stroller to walk with me she spent a big chunk of it JUMPING! We were both giggling hysterically and saying "Jump Jump Jump!"
I have a few boring errands to run this afternoon so I'm hoping the little Diva continues to be excited about going out with mommy! I figured after our errands we could spend some time in the back yard - I have some cleaning up to do there before the family come over on Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day. We are doing a South African theme so I will need to go pick up a few groceries to make sure we can make that happen! I am really looking forward to having everyone over and I hope the weather plays along so that we can hang out outside.
I'm hoping everyone is having a super awesome Thursday! Get out there and seize the day and all that jazz :D

Day 136 - Excuse me while I watch me some SOA
The little Diva and I had a really busy day. We spent the morning with Grano and Misty and then came home to wait for daddy to come back from work. Once he got home we got ready and left for Dadoos and Dadda's! We had a good day - long - but filled with family, love, fun and happiness.
I will be back for more fun filled tales of my day tomorrow but for now I'm going to chillax and watch a few more episodes of SOA with the hubby. Happy Thursday everyone!!!

Day 135 - Feeling ever so slightly Stabby!
I am not in a good mood today. The little Diva slept horribly last night and I am exhausted. I'm not sure if she's teething or just not able to put herself back to sleep when she wakes up at night. Perhaps it's because her nose is still stuffy. We have the humidifier going and it seems to help. I just don't know what to do. Should I just assume it's teeth pain and give her Tempra? Is this a good habit to get into? Ugh - I just wish I had a guide book for life sometimes.
I'm feeling ever so slightly "stabby" today and really hoping that tonight goes better than last night did. I don't like being this frustrated or this tired. All I want is for my little goober to be happy, healthy and well rested. Wish me luck for the rest of today - I need to remain calm and collected. Perhaps we will go for a walk outside: the fresh air will do us both a world of good.

DAy 134 - Overwhelmed!
I know everybody has been here at least once: you have so many things on your to do list that you end up frozen not knowing where to start. My list runs the gamut of things that I have to do - ie: the laundry so that we don't have to join a nudist colony and things I would really like to do - ie: my scrap-booking. There are of course a billion other things in the mix. I figure if I can get my blog, garbage, laundry, dinner and some cleaning done before the little Diva's bed time then I have a few hours to learn Urdu and work on a secret project. I need to remain motivated and avoid feeling overwhelmed or I'll never get anything done. I really need a little bit of luck too I think - any one have some to spare? There's so much reading I'd also like to get through - oh well I guess we will focus on baby steps. The reading can get squeezed in after the secret project.
The little Diva and I were going to go to her play group this morning but she's sounding super snotty again today and don't want to get dirty looks from the other moms there for bringing a sick kid. Also I'd hate for her to catch something else in addition to the cold - she's just starting to get over it. We went to the mall for a walk instead and enjoyed a cookie and some mommy-daughter bonding time. I can't believe how vocal this kid is getting - her communication skills get better each day. It truly is amazing to watch how children grow and develop.
She is definitely a stubborn little soul but I do need to cut her some slack as I'm not exactly blind to where that streak comes from ;). I'm going to have to work harder at putting up that ZEN front if I'm going to convince her that simmering down is a healthier way to get things done!
Anywho - I better get my butt into cleaning gear so that I can get the garbage cleared. The less have to do tonight the better - I may even bath the little Diva early... :) Lets hope this optimism lasts and translates into a clean orderly house and some free time for this momma to get stuff done tonight! Wish me luck :)

Day 133 - Yesterday!
So my sis-in-law planned a Mother's Day surprise for my Mom and I yesterday but wouldn't tell us what it was! Yes - yes I totally do get what a "surprise" is but I'm not a fan of not knowing what to expect. hehe yup I'm a little crazy that way. Don't get me wrong I LOVE when surprises turn out to be AWESOME as it did yesterday but I do get a little crazy trying to figure out what it is when I know something is up.
"M" took us to a gorgeous pottery studio. We had an amazing morning chatting and painting travel mugs. I can't wait to see how our art work turns out! It was way too much fun. I was super happy that my hubby was happy to spend the morning with the Little Diva so that mommy could spend some creative time with her sis-in-law and mom. It was a good day and I hope we can do it again soon!

Day 131 - Tooo many RUSKS!
Whew - today was lovely, hot and gorgeously sunny. It was definitely time for shorts and skirts - Weee!!! The Little Diva and I had a great morning visiting with Grano. We did some grocery shopping and then had a blast playing in the sunny backyard. I have all kinds of plans to get my garden cleaned up on Sunday so here's hoping the weather is great and that I actually manage to get it all done. We are having family over next weekend for Mother's day and I really need to clean it up before then. Wish me luck - I might need it.
The Little Diva is feeling much better but she seems to have got Daddy sick. The poor guy is feeling pretty miserable. Here's hoping he is feeling better tomorrow. Speaking of which; I better go get the poor guy some tea.
Happy Start of the Weekend everyone!

Day 130 - Lightening!
So I'm taking a break from watching the storm to quickly update my blog with my day's happenings. The Little Diva and I had a pretty low-key day what with her having a cold and all. She is MUCH better today - her little nose is still ridiculously stuffy but at least there is no continuous flow of snot down her face. We did a quick stop at the grocery store for flour and cereal and then we dropped off some clothes at Goodwill. I've been cleaning out the clutter in my closet and it feels GREAT to get rid of stuff I'm probably never EVER going to wear again.
I'm trying to find my "mommy-style" and have to admit it's not all that easy. My tastes still lean very much toward "gotta-have-my-coffee-college-student". I'm sure I may have mentioned it before but my little sister assured me that "Goth-mom" was not in fact a good style choice for me. Thank gawd because with how white I am I don't know that I would be able to pull off all that black - or is that the look in a nutshell? hehe Thank goodness I'm totally kidding about the goth theme. Anyway so yes my closet has been purged. Gotta love what an episode or two of Hoarders can do for you!!
Hmmm.... Other than that our day was filled with cuddles and tv and books and play dough and snacks and milk and meals and juice and playing outside! The Little Diva tried to kiss an ant while we were outside. When I suggested she not do that she jabbed her fingers at the poor critter and "showed" me where it was a hundred times. That ant is SUPER duper lucky to not be squished. I was awesomely impressed with his dodging techniques. My brother assures me that this bug fascination gets even better when the kiddies start digging up worms :)
Happy Friday Everyone!

Day 129 - Neurotic Cat...
Ugh so one of my cats is on the rampage again. Pretty much EVERYTHING terrifies him at the moment - I'm seriously considering finding him some anti-anxiety medication. This "terror" results in litter box "accidents" outside of the litter box. I don't know about you but I am no fan of cat poop. It's not even a teeny little bit ok if it's not INSIDE the litter box and preferably covered with litter.
We figured that perhaps we needed to move the litter box (it's been in the laundry room for months... suddenly the furnace is making him all kinds of nervous). So the Little Diva and I set off for our local pet store this morning and got a brand-spanking-new covered box. It was the biggest one we could find!
I even picked up a little carpet to put out front to help keep litter tracking at bay. While the Diva napped I got the new box set up in the new location. I am happy to report that the crazy cat has been super calm today. No crying for me to take him down to the litter box so I'm cautiously optimistic that the new plan is working.
The Little Diva currently has the runniest of noses and it's making her a little down in the dumps. We have the steamer on in her room and it definitely helps - she slept really well last night. I'm hoping she will be feeling better tomorrow for our visit to Dadoos and Dadda!

Day 128 - Still so sleeeeeepy!
The Little Diva has not been sleeping well and me thinks she is growing another molar or two. Have I mentioned how much I HATE teeth? Yep teeth are no fun - unless they are all there, in perfect working order and tucking into something yummy! - Or you know, grinning beautifully or just chilling in your mouth minding their own business. I'm working on being more "zen-like" but when one is ever so slightly sleep deprived this proves to be harder than usual. I'm sure it's not impossible though!!
My plan at the moment is just to ensure we keep busy, happy and entertained during the day so that come bed time - certain little people are smiling, tired and happy to go to sleep! It doesn't always work but I'm working on it. If my plan goes well it also results in a happy and tired mommy at the end of the day!
The Little Diva and I had a lovely play-date with her little friend "S" this morning. It was so cute to see her having fun. She was super entertained by S's little sister in her exersaucer. Divabum fell asleep on the way home and as soon as we've had lunch we need to run a few errands. Specifically we need to go pick up some diapers. Turns out I was slightly over-optimistic about just how fast I thought potty training would happen! :D
Woops sounds like she's waking up....
Ok we are back - the little diva is munching her lunch and this mommy is keeping her company and having some green tea! I just took a peek in my fridge and my grocery list has grown by quite a bit - yipes. BUT I am happy to report I'm back on my healthy diet and plan to keep it this way except for the occasional treat. It is so hard not to get sucked into the habit of eating all of the half cookies and cheerios the little Diva leaves behind. Oh the joys of sticky little toddlers!
Anywho I need to pay attention to my little monkey and then get us ready to go shopping. Hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday and that Wednesday brings all kinds of fun and happiness.
